I Just read the Daniel Cash post referencing “Song Of A Citizen.” Glad you enjoyed the video op-eds, and appreciate your recommending them.
I’m intrigued by what you’re doing in K.C. I love the “imagining” approach. It helps put abstract civic concepts into narrative form which can be very effective. I also noted your comment about those who may never have heard about what you were doing, and wondering how you might reach them in the future.
The next project I’ll be doing for SoaC will involve filming local citizen-driven deliberative/dialogue events and forums, either as part of an eventual documentary, or as stand-alone minidocs. Aside from the value those films might have for the civic engagement community at large, they will hopefully serve to increase awareness in the communities from which they originated, expanding the pool of participation in future projects. So I look forward to learning more what you’ve been doing there recently, and what you plan next.
